Build the operating capability your next stage demands.

Saye supports founders and startup executives across finance, reporting, capital readiness, workflows, data, and practical AI. We help leadership decide what matters now and build what the company will need next.

OperationsRepeatable work

Data and AIPractical leverage

Finance, reporting, operations, and data each carry part of the value. The strongest outcome comes from connecting them, not from a single tool.

The capability system

Six capabilities, one contribution.

Companies rarely need all six at once. They need the two or three that are limiting the business now, built so the rest can be added without starting over.

Capabilities
Contribution

A company that is easier to run and easier to underwrite.

Each capability produces something a reviewer can examine: a close that lands on time, a metric with one definition, a workflow with a named owner, a forecast with a variance history. Together they make performance legible.

What we do

The capabilities in detail

01 / Startup growth and funding readiness

Prepare before investors define the story for you

Whether your next funding round is two years away or your open data room is already prompting uncomfortable questions, Saye helps strengthen the reporting, controls, forecasts, and operating evidence behind your company's story.

With time, we build the history and discipline that make future diligence easier. During an active process, we reconcile inconsistencies, organize supportable answers, and focus the team on the questions affecting value and terms.

What the work covers

  • Data room preparation
  • Active diligence support
  • Investor question tracking
  • Founder dashboards and KPIs
  • Funding readiness assessment
  • Growth and valuation scenarios
  • Operating plan after the round
  • Cash runway and capital planning
  • Financial models ready for investors
  • Operating evidence and documentation

What it contributes

A story a reviewer can test rather than accept. Definitions, history, and support already exist when the questions arrive, so the conversation stays about the business.

02 / Fractional finance and accounting

Finance leadership that scales with the business

We provide the accounting, controller, and finance capability a growing company needs before every role needs to be internal.

The work ranges from day to day accounting and a reliable close to planning, board reporting, controls, and guidance from an experienced CFO. The scope grows with the company and stays tied to the decisions leadership has to make.

What the work covers

  • Finance team design
  • Accounting operations
  • Fractional CFO support
  • Finance systems and processes
  • Fractional controller support
  • Cleanup and readiness projects
  • Management and board reporting
  • Cash flow and budget management
  • Support across multiple entities
  • Monthly close and reconciliations

What it contributes

A reliable close, which is the reference point every other claim in the company depends on.

03 / AI strategy and operating design

Find where AI can change the business, not just add another tool

Most companies need a small number of valuable AI use cases, supported by better workflows, clear ownership, reliable data, and realistic controls.

We identify where AI can improve capacity, customer experience, analysis, or decision speed. Then we determine what must change around the technology for the result to be useful, adopted, and worth the investment.

What the work covers

  • Workflow redesign
  • Build or buy decisions
  • AI readiness assessment
  • Use case prioritization
  • Return and cost planning
  • Team capability planning
  • Model and vendor selection
  • Risk and approval boundaries
  • Data and integration planning
  • Practical implementation roadmap

What it contributes

Capacity that can be measured, with authority, sources, and review that hold up when someone asks how the work is actually done.

04 / Custom agents and automation

Build an agent when an agent is the right answer

Custom agents can expand the capacity of a small team, but only when they are built around real work and a clear business outcome.

We design agents that research, prepare, reconcile, monitor, and coordinate work across approved systems. Each one has defined sources, limits, handoffs, review points, and ownership so the team can use it with confidence.

What the work covers

  • Evaluation and testing
  • Workflow and role design
  • Documentation and handoff
  • Human review and approvals
  • Team training and adoption
  • Agent opportunity discovery
  • Custom agent implementation
  • Knowledge and data grounding
  • Monitoring and cost controls
  • Tool and system integrations

What it contributes

Throughput that does not require proportional headcount, inside limits the team can explain to a board or a buyer.

05 / Data and workflow foundations

Give leadership and investors the same answer

Reliable reporting starts with clear definitions, trusted source data, visible ownership, and workflows that produce the same result every period.

We improve the environment around the tools you already have, connect systems where the business case supports it, and make the information easier to use without forcing a costly platform replacement.

What the work covers

  • Data ownership
  • Business definitions
  • Knowledge base design
  • Source system mapping
  • Evidence and provenance
  • Access and approval design
  • System and API integration
  • Model and vendor flexibility
  • Workflow and handoff mapping
  • Data models for automation and AI

What it contributes

One version of the business, so reports agree with each other, with the ledger, and with what management says.

06 / Decision intelligence and strategic finance

Turn operating data into better decisions

We combine strategic finance, forecasting, and operating analysis so leadership can understand cash, margin, growth, and tradeoffs sooner.

Reliable accounting and source data stay underneath the work. Automation can accelerate preparation and analysis, while leadership remains responsible for the decisions.

What the work covers

  • Project economics
  • Financial strategy
  • Analysis supported by AI
  • KPI and financial models
  • Forecasting and scenarios
  • Revenue and margin analysis
  • Accounting and close support
  • Management and board reporting
  • Funding and diligence readiness
  • Cash runway and capital planning

What it contributes

Earlier visibility of cash, margin, and tradeoffs, which is where most enterprise value is protected or quietly lost.

Turn the close into a management decision system

Explore a working management dashboard with synthetic financial data, scenario controls, source status, and a decision register.

The example shows how close outputs can become a useful operating view instead of another static report. Every company requires its own measures, definitions, controls, and working configuration.

How it reads from the outside

The same capability, seen by someone deciding whether to fund you

Valuation is ultimately determined by the market. Our role is to help founders build the operating evidence behind a stronger case.

Efficiency

Efficient and scalable

Better workflows, practical automation, and clear ownership increase capacity and reduce dependence on fragile manual work.

Control

Controlled and ready for compliance

Clear ownership, approvals, documentation, and traceable processes reduce avoidable risk as the company grows.

Credibility

Credible under diligence

Financial and operating reporting built for scrutiny gives investors and partners a clearer view of performance, economics, and opportunity.

A practical first step

Start with a focused investigation

Fixed fee. Clear scope. A prioritized remediation plan you own whether or not you keep working with us.

Introductory offer, once per client each calendar year

We follow at least one complete close process and review how your key controls, management reporting, and AI enabled work operate around it. We identify the gaps creating risk, wasted effort, or weak visibility and turn them into a practical sequence of improvements.

This is an introductory engagement. It is intended as a first piece of work together, so a client may take one investigation per calendar year. Continuing work afterwards is scoped and priced separately.

Nothing is charged today. Choosing an investigation starts a conversation, not a payment. We agree the scope, the timing, and what you will receive in writing first, and the fixed fee is invoiced only after that is settled. You are free to walk away at any point before it is agreed.

The Founder investigation typically takes three to six weeks. The Team investigation typically takes five to eight weeks. Timing depends on the complexity of the business and its close, with at least two weeks devoted to investigation before analysis and reporting.

A custom AI working configuration is a documented, tested operating specification for a defined business workflow. It sets the AI's role, approved sources, required business context, workflow steps, output standards, human review points, and escalation rules. Prompts may be part of the configuration, but they are not the product. The product is a repeatable, reviewable way of working.
